Ride It Right 2009

OK… I know it’s a bit last minute, but for anyone who might fancy a jaunt down to Surrey - you might be interested in this:

‘Ride it Right’ – a free event aimed at reducing deaths and injuries involving motorcyclists, organised by and held at Haslemere Fire Station, Surrey in partnership with Wey Valley Advanced Motorcyclists, returns on Sunday 20th September 2009 from 10am. We welcome all motorcyclists whatever they ride or wherever they live from across the South and Southeast of England. Promising to be the biggest event yet and once again offering the free legendary triple ‘BBB’ Bikers Breakfast Burger to all motorcyclists who attend.

Throughout the day there will be workshops on cornering, bad weather riding and riding at night, overtaking and filtering, hazards and cornering as well as slow riding techniques and observed ride-outs all provided by the Wey Valley Advanced Motorcyclists.

Other activities on the day include free tyre safety checks courtesy of Guildford Tyres and Michelin, ‘No spanners’ maintenance and free motorcycle safety checks from Dave Thomas of ‘Motorcycle Inspection and Service’. Other attendees include experts from the medical profession who will be giving workshops on accident scene management and first aid (just for attending a talk, a free first aid kit that will fit under your seat will be provided, subject to availability).
