On 1st March 2006 we sadly lost an LB member, Ali aka Full Throttle, to a tragic accident on his bike. Links at the end of the post for those new to the site or those who werent around when it happened.
In his memory Paivi, has made a considerable effort to have a permanent memorial of Ali in form of a tree in Regents Park. Have a looksee at the topic about the tree, which was a sticky:

So in memory of Ali we have organised a ride out, as his birthday would have been a few days after the rideout (4th August) and would be a good opportunity to raise the remaining money needed for the tree.
Date:
30th July 2006. Its a Sunday and we are hoping of clear skies, fingers crossed.
The route:
Courtesy of Weaver and Steve - big thank you
10:00am: Meet at Silver Ball on A10 for breakfast at - link below:
http://www.transportcafe.co.uk/silver_ball_transport_cafe_reed.html
11:00am: Leave SB
A10 down to A120 turn off towards Bishops Stortford.
Follow A120 to junction with A130.
Then follow A130 to Junction with A127 (there is a bit of A12 in the middle here) and follow that to Southend.
The last bit getting into Southend is where peeps might get split up so if everyone follows the signs to the seafront - apparently bikes can be parked on the central reservation - and we should all find each other.
We are hoping for 3 main groups. A fast group, intermediate and chilled group. More details on this to follow
Last bit:
Anyone who would like to participate contributes a nominal £5 towards the tree. As for pillions, if you would like to donate, its up to you, if not, no worries, you’re still welcome.
We are hoping for a fun day out and to remember our fallen friend, we ask everyone to wear a black armband.
Thats it for now but myself, Paivi, Weaver and the other admin staff will keep you informed.
There’s enough time so lets try and get as many people together so we can all have a fun day out.
Many thanks, Sam.
