Ride for BMan RIP Rescheduled 30th march

Will be attending with possible others not from LB.

Definitely going to this to give a £5 to cancer charity and to “JUST DO IT FOR MIKE”

Not sure if I can make this, but hope I can make myself free. Sorry to hear about BMan.

I remember this BMan charity ride from 2008. There are several LBers present - including me on the yellow scooter and the Jetstreams on BB1. You can tell it is August Bank Holiday by all the rain!

Thanks for the video Giuliano. Just seen myself on the red Honda Firestorm & remembered i was on that run!!

still on, weather permitting

I remember leading this one on the 1098.
Always bloody rained for mikes rides.

Recall it being a strange feeling following the police riders and not doing anything daft for a change :stuck_out_tongue:

IIRC the police were Surrey Police who were at Box Hill, were approached to buy a raffle ticket and ended up offering to escort the ride as far as Horsham!

Just found these of Mike (he’s Father Christmas in the middle) on the Toy Run to the Little Haven Childrens’ Hospice, which he organised in 2008:

I’m in and possibly with couple HD dudes from Chelsea & Fulham chapter :pinch:

Some more pics of Mike at the end of this thread: http://londonbikers.com/forums/625247/SUNDAY-6TH-DECEMBER–THE-GREAT-SOUTH-EAST-SANTA-RIDE?PageIndex=7

(When he had changed his username from BMan to HarleyD)

I’m doubtful for this now. The area around the garages and the side road are now just a nice sheet of ice, unless it melts I probably won’t be able to get the bike. Will make a final decision on Sunday morning.

im doubtful with the weather we are having. If its snowing or very icy then im out.

I suspect a lot of people are going to drop out with the weather that is forecast…if it was just cold or just rain it wouldnt be an issue. In fact I would think of him more as the worst weather I have ridden in was the toy run a couple of years back.
Is there any possibility of rescheduling this to get the turn out he deserves?

I’m not sure Anita, but I will obviously keep you all in the loop if things change.

I have to say I’m also doubtful if the weather turns as bad as expected. I’m not prepared to risk me or my bike for the ride if we have loads of snow. :crying:

I just think it would be sad if the ride didnt have many people on it.
Maybe ask others what they think so that you can get idea of who is likely to pull out
I have just checked the weather and I am 99% out. Sorry

I asked about a Plan B but that didn’t seem to be an option for most. I explained that for some of us it’s a good 70 miles just to get to Thurrock and with the weather scheduled to be snow it was going to be unlikely we could all attend as planned.

I’m obviously going to play it by ear and see how we stand Saturday night.

Well the snow flurries are already happening in Watford. Walking back from the dive club was a little chilly.

Please say that’s a clip joint lol

Biking satisfies my leather fetish, diving satisfies my rubber fetish. :w00t::blink:
