prolly cant help but if i can PM me

Adam

Not to worry to much I’m not sure the mix of antibiotics/ antinflamatories/painkillers and all the rest of the medication with my own pain treatment (21 year old single malt) is the best for me anyway

But at this stage anything to get me through

Cheers Mark.

Bugger get well soon mate.

thought I’d give you guys a bit of an update.

well my world currently is my front room and not much more I’ve been out twice since coming home and paid the price each time, only sleeping with medication, but I’ve backed off the booze (the two don’t mix well), I’ve been back and had further x-rays to confirm the bones are healing, and another cast applied, as I’ve got compromised blood flow I’m not allowed to tence any of the leg muscle, this has resulted in about 25% muscle wastage (and that’s a bugger to get back).

I had hoped the pain would have subsided by now, but alas it’s only localised to the soft tissue behind the knee, realisticaly I can’t expect any relif until they operate on that, which the knee specialist won’t do until the bones are mended.

I go back on the 18th Dec and will find out if the bones are healed enough for the next stage to begin, so I maybe in hosp over Christmas/ New year or may have to wait until after, however as I’ve been told it’ll be “multiple procedures” they won’t get me a prognosis on how much movement or strength I’ll end up with.

Of course my answer to that was I need at least 90 degrees so I can ride the bike

Unfortunately I’ve had to cancel just about all my plans for Christmas and the new year as I can’t take the chance of doing further injury at this stage.

Still it’s only one year, I’ll have my Christmas at the end of March with any luck (he says hopefully).

Cheers Mark.

CHIN UP SWEETHEART!!!

must be hell for you mate…just wish this never happend to ya…makes me so mad!!!

Its all progress though mate…

all the best to ya.

Wishing you a speedy recov and a pain-free christmas matey.

All da best.

Ritus broken bones, muscle wastage and being stuck in bed 22hrs a day is a real pain in da arse but once your healed up and moving around (even a lil bit) things start to get better real quick. My legs still not a 100% healed and won’t be till at least Feb time if I’m lucky I still have a problem with my muscle strength & stiff joints and I have been off crutches about 5 weeks.
(swimming & peddle bike riding helps or so I’m told I have to start working out week)…

Like I said it’s a real pain but if you ever wanna chat/moan/damn the world PM me (or Leggy Pete he can be a real help and is an all round nice guy) im only a mose click away

Exercise hard - things get better - misery is forgotten once your riding again
Da Artist

Sorry to hear this Rictus, get well soon x

unfortunately I’m not able to exercise as they haven’t started work on the tendons and ligaments, in fact they are rather concerned about DVT’s so can’t do anything at all for now

45 days now off my leg and about 3 more weeks to go, but he’s hoping for the best.

Cheers Mark.

All the best mate

Sorry Rictus, can only second whats been said…and agree with Da Artist? Im in same boat as him with my knee? Both me and Da Artist are up and about now but it took time and we are still having probs so not all sorted yet…physio and working the muscles again etc…doubt we will be back to 100% for a while…but do what it takes mate…and it gets better honest, but u must know that.

Youve got a lot of hard work coming up and its damn painful too…cant deny it, so i fully understand. Me You Ross and Da Artist should form the cripple club (joke)…no offence meant… All the best and keep posting up to let us know how ya doing?
