Respraying fairing

You may remember some time ago my post about a little argument with the tarmac in which my bike definitely came off the worst… finally got round to starting to try and repair the cosmetic aspects of the damage. I’ve resprayed the grab rail (used wet & dry sandpaper, spray primer and spray gloss black paint).

Where I’m stuck is how to paint the fairing ? Most of it is just ‘grazed’ i.e. no deep scratches but enough to take the shine off and make it look very scuffed. I’m assuming I should use a fine grade W&D paper to get a uniform contour, but how do I go about getting back the shine ?

Cheers…

gloss finish paint?

If the paint its self is not dammaged, by gentally rubbing down with finer than fine W&D paper to get the finish back first, then re-spraying with a good clear laquer (small ammounts at a time) then a final rub with rubbing compound then polish - should be grand!
