Replacement tyres for a Tiger Explorer

Morning

Im not sure im getting on too well with the standard fit Metzler tyres on my Tiger Explorer. Not bad in the dry but very skittish in the wet and have had a couple of near moments on white lines. Seems the front wants to track on any groove in the road and hates any road markings.

Given the wheels are the same as on the BMW GS, with a 19 front, any suggestions on something more road biased ? Seems Michelin do these sizes for their Pilot Road 3s which is what i had on my previous bike, a 1050 Tiger

Thanks

Mark

Hi,

The Anakee 2’s have been good for my Tiger 800 - road and mixed. Still going well after 8,000 miles. Generally very well regarded.

Tourance 2’s were ok on GS Adventure - though apparently they’re not nice towards the end of their life.

Not tried these new ones - Michelin Pilot Road Adventure/Trail - but sound promising for more road-use

As always, check out Essential Rubber in east London and mention London Bikers to get a bit of a discount.
