Now Renthal produce about 100 (?) different bar bends and each type has a unique Renthal part number. O.K. Easy so far.
So when you have worked out (probably) what you want, where do you buy the bu**ers?
GB sites seem to think it’s o.k. to just list “Streetfighter” or “Trial” bars or “Road” bars, for instance. The better ones give some dimensions but never the bl**dy Renthal part number.
Is there a decent site for these things in the UK, or am I going to have to take my £50 chance with someone in Montana, or Idaho, or Macao?
Use some of your pension money and newly-found free time to go to Idaho in person to pick some out. Tell Mrs O you’re on a secret mission which you are forbidden to tell her about.
New bars arrived today and they look about right for what I wanted. Very slightly higher rise, a lot less pull back. the proof of whether I got it right will be in the trying and riding. That’s a Boxingday job after the braided brake line arrives.
Then I looked at Renthal’s sticker on the pack.
Good to know I’ve just bought a pair of bars for one up from a bloody moped.
