sorry to disappoint you, but italy has much bigger problems than religion. i can guarantee you, if the vatican moved away it would not make any difference at all.
until people are so scared of death, which is part of life, there will be religion. nobody wants to know that they are just going to disappear do they?

So so funny to see all those claiming to be enlightened by turning their nose up at religion being so narrow-minded…kind of ironic.
In this case, the real big problem is not religion itself, but the system behind it…
…and I don’t know which part of Italy you come from, and don’t mean to be patronising but I think you should get to know more about it…

i lived and visited almost EVERYWHERE in italy, name a town i’ve been there.
apathy is not the problem dude.
ignorance, selfishness and old mentality (as we are mostly a nation of old people) is the cancer of my country.
it would possibly take another generation to get things moving in the right direction.
