Recommend me a Bike Repair Shop in South London

Post-crash I’m back from hols still aching but fully refreshed and looking to get my bike repaired as soon as possible.

The bike seems fine but the the rightside handlebar took the brunt of the impact and when I rode it home from the scene it’s clear something (I hope just the bar) is not quite straight.

I am looking for a mechanic local to Croydon are to check it out/ repair it. It’s not an insurance claim so I need a good price. Would be grateful for any recommendations.

PM Adz on here

Have you tried talking to the geezer at Merlin Bike Breakers in Maple Road, Penge? He’d probably tell you what is wrong with it straight away if you took your bike down there. He’s always been helpful and ready to offer good advice. Plus he’d know good local people if you need a repair. I think they are closed on a Monday but you could call tomorrow on 020 8778 7260.

Dave Wilkins (contact info below) is a member of our IAM group and comes in very highly recommended. His etos is “Advice is free” and “If we can’t fix it, we know the man who can”.
I personally never used his shop because it’s a bit out the way for me, but I would do any jobs other than a Yamaha service.

If he’s not too far away from you, it may be worth popping in for a chat. He’s a really nice chap too.

Thanks all. I’ll check these leads out.

That is so bizarre! I lived at 2 flats in that house from 1989-1993.Then I lived at 57 from 1997-1998. Memories!

Me, can assess damage and make list for parts required,at a fraction of the labour costs charged by dealers.
