Can you recommend a boot that ideally is waterproof and under £180?
ps I heard that Sidi sizes are small so i would be looking at a 48? ![]()

Best thing is to go somewhere and try on as many as you can.
It’s a bit like crash helmets - you need to try a few different pairs on to get the right fit. Don’t forget to try them on with your leather trousers on if you wear them tucked in.
I find that Sidi and Alpine Stars are for people with no calf muscles![]()

There’s no way you would need to spend anything like £180 for
Wellingtons.
LOL… well they would be waterproof!! ![]()
Altberg.
My four year old pair are still waterproof, still robust. Well, tough as old boots really. Wide range of sizes off the shelf and they will also make to measure. Don’t necessarily believe the price on their website either - they will charge you less.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about these and the customer service is excellent too.
If I didn’t have my Daytonas these are one’s I’d look at.
Oh yeah - check out Daytonas…
Ah, but Daytonas for under £180 might be a bit of a struggle!
i know their boringly bland but Sidi Black Rain do the businesss for me . I am sometimes i mine for hours in the rain and they have yet to leak. There not as breathable as i’d like but hey ho thats the compromise.
There are some for that money - although you won’t get the Sports Evo stuff I suppose…
well i bought a set of New sidi vertigos in blue and black, i made a mistake and went for the courier boots, i sold them on ebay got most of my money back and settled for a set of these, much better for me, i can walk in them and they are comfy, i do like sidis always do a good boot.
Plus for a cheapo set of throw away boots i bought last year a set of Nitro boots in white, they are fairly waterproof and again are comfy, i tend to wear these a bit more in the winter as they are warmer.![]()
Aye, the Voyager boot is Gore Tex lined, and with the LB discount at Infinity comes in at £171 ![]()
Warining:Stupid question, Look away now: ![]()
“the Daytona Voyager doesnt look as protective as an SIDI or Apinestar…?”
I agree it does look more welly-like than the others, but it’s got ankle and shin armour ![]()
Ive got a set of BMW touring boots - Not full race boot style, but warm, waterproof, SUPER comfy and i got them for half price - Even full price is about £120…
Shin and ankle armour too - Only missing the toecaps if i had one complain… other than that id give them 10/10.
I’m a size 46 and bought a pair of gortex oxtars, luckily the last pair for £95 (aparently half price?)
fantastic value. Sondels at highbury and Islington will always have a deal on - big range too.
Ask for eric, she’s really helpful
good luck hunting
well i do like the sidis, i had the daytonas once before, very good too.
welly-like!
I’d rather have welly like than full of rain-like
oxtar matrix 2 gtx are very very good boots plain looking but work really well £139.99 plus your 15% LB discount.we sold debz a pair ages ago.
