I would really like to know what rearsets LB’s superbike riders, trackday nuts and racers use, love and recommend?
They have to be GSXR K4 600 compatible, they can’t be Gillies as I want something a lil different (Even though I can get Gilles dirt cheap) and I would like the same company to also produce chain adjusters as well paddock stand lifters, if Gillies are the only company that do all 3 what combos would you all use… Please HELP thinking about this is driving me nuts
Oh and what do you all think or Arrow, anybody actually used them
Sato or Yoshimura for sheer tastyness and authenticity, though the Gilles are THE rearsets for Gixxers in the real-world. I’ve crash tested them a couple of times on the 750 (ahem) and rate them extremely highly, they are tough as anything! I run with LSL 'sets on the thou, which are lightweight ones from America. I personally don’t like the Harris ones as everyone and their dog had them on their R1 back in the day.
B has some nice rearsets on his bike and he paid peanuts for them, I would have a word with him. They’re very nice as well.
I have the Harris’s is my hand right now and they look great are as light a tin foil but still feel solid.
My Gilles come tomorrow and after reading the bad Reviews on Arrows they won’t be coming at all
Think ill go for Gilles as I can get the lifters too, they’ll cost me peanuts
Oops im a little late but it may be worthwhile considering the rearsets ive got JB. I cant post a pic up at the moment but theyre very similar to Satos and theyre very good build quality. All in matt black.
The guy who gets them fabricated puts them on his endurance race bikes and says they stand up well in a crash. Priced at around £130 you cant go wrong. Heres a list of the bikes he does:
All R1`s
al gsxrs and the latest ones if the template is the same.
Ducati 748, 916 and 998
zx6/9 up to 2002
sv 650/1000
R6 02-04
cbr600/1000
zx10 04-05
If anyone is interested ill pm you his number. Hes based in Chessington.
retail on them is 130 for the pair. i did really well on the price through a mate that knows him from the racing circuit. i dare say if you give him a buzz and a bit of the chat, you’ll be able to improve on his web price
they look great on the bike but more importantly they are much nicer shape for two finger braking etc and the span adjustment works a treat to find a suitable biting point that doesnt foul the remaining fingers on the clip on
Danno the short levers are ment for two finger braking n clutching, I like the look and only use two fingers when clutchin so the short levers suit me fine.
you can 2 finger brake with the long levers too mate, the difference being is that you can adjust the span back to allow you use all the fingers if you get tired/brake fade. racers dont actually use the stubbies
