Hello chaps,
Do you need to replace the chain and front sprocket to “match” a higher tooth rear sprocket or will the chain adjusters absorb the difference?..
cheers

You won’t have any adjustment room left if you’ve got em wound all the way out, play it safe and buy a new chain with the extra links in!
Surely it would be the other way around? if the sprocket is larger, then the chain will be pulled tighter and you will need to wind the tensioners in?
It is late, I been drinking, I could easily be wrong…
think you’ll get away with 2 teeth on standard chain length
prob more an issue of how old the chain and front sprocket are? if they’ve been on there a long time they may wear the near rear a bit more aggressively, esp if there’s any stretch/tight spots
you can just go down a tooth on the front instead and get the same result?
Yep your right, it would be all the way in, so you might get away with standard length!
thanks duderino’s.
been looking at the chain today and its looking a little tired so think i’ll do the lot… hopefully it wont need a speedo healer too!
cheers
I have done this mod and the std length chain wasnt big enough i had to get one with two more links.
