Last week I had both of my tires changed on my Street Triple R (to Michelin Pilot Road 3) and driving away from the shop I noticed immediately that my rear brake ‘bites’ much further down than where it used to bite - feels like an inch lower at least.
The brakes were only visually inspected and not changed. I took the bike back to the shop and they said that it could not be related to anything they did and that they ‘pumped-up’ both brakes afterr fitting the wheels back
I had this once before when the shop failed to pump the rear brake after changing the tyre but it soon went back to normal, how far have you ridden it since the tyre change?
Sorry my mistake, I actually pulled over and pumped the brake by hand until it felt ok. But 10 miles of riding should have gotten it back to normal if you were using the brake regularly. I notice on your other post that you had the cable replaced, was this after the tyre change?
Check the fluid level, check that the bleed nipples are tight, obviously the caliper had to be removed from the disc it might just be a coincidence , sounds to me that the rear brake needs bleeding
When I had some Street Triple issues Barry (Shiver) sorted them out with OMC (Oval Motorcycle Centre). They spotted a chain collar issue that hadn’t been noticed before.
I would take your Triple down there and am sure they can help you investigate.
