Reading Half Marathon

Myself and a mate are due to run the Reading Half Marathon on the 21st March and therefor I’m now on the scrounge for some of you kind souls to sponsor me!

Now, the charity I have chosen may not be to everyones taste but I hope it will appeal to a group of keen bikers like us…I have chosen to run in aid of the Chris Jones Riders Fund.

I’m sure many of you will be aware of the amazing work Pam Jones does for the British Motorcycle Racing scene and that racing over here could realistically only go ahead with the help and support of the CJ Riders Fund. Those of you that arent, please go here www.cjnine.com.

My target is to raise £400 but with the help of lots of kind kind people, I would love to smash this target. If you feel that you would like to help me and indeed the CJ Riders Fund then please go to www.justgiving.com/Garry-Hurst

Many Many Thanks

Thank you for your support geezer…

I remember yours well too…in fact one of my bosses at work was talking to about it the other day, he was watching his wife run the Half and said some wierdo in leathers and a helmet came gliding past him hahaha:P

I hope nobody minds me bringing this back into view…

 i wouldn’t have said “gliding” more like blowing out his arse:w00t:

Still amazed Shane managed it, nutter;)

Gaz i will sponsor you fella, may even come and support, seeing as i live just down the road:)

PJ, that would be fantastic…the more support the better! In fact, just think how good it would be to have a bunch of you lot all ‘leathered’ up taking over a section of the Madejski Stadium shouting and screaming at a load of fit people breathing out of their a**e  Just look for us in the CJRF t-shirts

Appreciate the support PJ…Thanks

no no no…please dont all rush at once people…:hehe:;):ermm::crying:

I was going to post a pisstaking reply, but…

Gaz is a cool guy, and (despite being unable to stay on a bike for 5 minutes) deserves some support.

I’ll put in a tenner.

Ok, saw how pisspoor the response was so donated 40 quid…sort it out guys!

Bump

Alex, you sir are a good man…in fact (at the moment) your by far the best on here

I honestly and truely thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I’ll buy you a cabbage or something to say thanks.

Yoolah, please accept my sincere thanks to you too…

Just donated a little something for your chosen charity mate, good luck with it;)

Many thanks Rob, highly appreciated!!! (PS, I was in your shoes this time last year…15 stone down to 11st 10 now…keep it up and well done)

Boing…

good luck pal! Try not to fall off!!!

Mate, i’m speechless…how am I supposed to ridicule you now

May I take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to those that sponsored me for this…

I did the run today and although I didnt hit my target of sub 2 hours, I only failed by 4 minutes with a time of 2:04:00.

On the plus side, I have beaten my original target of £400 and at the moment the fund is standing at £440 and is hopefully still rising.

A HUGE thank you to Rixxy, Alex Gold, Yolaah and Rioting Rob…your support means the world!!! THANK YOU

In that case I retract my sponsorship!

Well Done

mate you trained hard and worked so hard… i still think your mad but well done!!!

See you on the bike soon!!

Hello Gazhurst, I think the last time I saw you was at BM in summer of 2008!

In fact - I have only just seen this thread now, obviously it completely passed me by when it was first on for some reason. WELL DONE!! That’s great!! Stick me down for a fiver - sorry not more, am a bit skint - but count me in for that.

Cheers
