Reaaaaally wide boots

Hellooo!

As a gal with really (read: abnormally) wide calves, does anyone know of specific boot brands/models which could cater for this? At present I’ve got a pair of Falcos which I bought online over a year ago, but the place doesn’t sell bike gear anymore.

These boots (no idea of the model name) are sort of… mid shin, all leather, no plasticcy bits, with 2 slits up the back which are held together by some uber sticky velcro, so that they expand.

Help! Please!

sidi vertigo are the way to go
excellent boots

My friend has the same problem and he bought a pair of Sidis at the weekend, they have a dialy thingy on the back so you can adjust it to your leg rather than your leg adjust to the boots, they were lovely looking too, I believe they were in the region of £160… Good luck…

Hiya,

I found these ones: http://www.seastarsuperbikes.co.uk/bootcatalogue.php?cat=boots&page=2

They sound like the ones your mate might have picked up, Lady P, but they’re listed as £215. If you’re speaking to her, do you think you could ask her what model hers are? I’d be very grateful!!

doctor martins…the shoes not the dog tablets !!

It was a him not a her, and yes I will phone him later to find out the exact model… I know they are not the new fancy ones. They were from Taz motorcycles in Peterborough. Let me find a link for you and I will post it up…

I had the same problem and found A* supertechs to be spot on.

Bit pricey though.

The boots I was on about are the Sidi Vertigo not the Sidi Vertigo Corsa’s, they retail at about £160. and they are lovely looking boots…

If you don’t have to have the latest & greatest, look around for a pair of SIDI Vertebra. they’re going cheap since the Vertigos appeared, still good boots. They have the same ability to change the calf size, need tools to do it though.
I got mine for £110 (he’s since sold out).

Keti,

Scroll down a bit further and the Vertigo’s (not corsa) are £155.

The Gaerne GPS are a bit wider in the foot. Very comfortable if a little on the ‘wellie boot’ side.

Hi Keti

Weets is spot on, I had same problem and spent many hours at bike shows and shops trying boots on, finally found a set of alpinestar supertech boots which are rear opening and very adjustable.
