I prefer the first version of superduke. After my 05 was stolen I went hunting for another 05 / 06 model and found a 11 month old 06 with 700 miles on it!
I like the more extreme head angle, and seeing as I really only ride on track, the tank size doesn’t bother me.

I went to Scotland on it once… from Heysham… thought I could control my fuel consumption enough to make it a fun trip… it was crap.
Great bike and roads but your for ever thinking you could spending the night in the hills or rolling/pushing into petrol stations on fumes… no fun when everyone else is on 18 litre + tanks.
Was annoying as its a comfy bike to ride, not overly vibey and great fun… I should’ve forked out a grand for the carbon tank which was 18 litres and not bought an R1 instead

Coming back from the gym one saturday morning I headed up towards the mountian course to go home.
Slightly overcast and damp road but nothing that bothered at all.
Came round Hillberry corner behind traffic and then filtered past traffic going up the long straight to brandish. Loads of 30mph traffic as there was a mahooosize!! jcb carrying lorry up front pulling up the hill.
Lorry, two cars then me… I pull out and gas it to go past all 3… everythings going fine til the lorry pulls (to go round a cyclist I later found out).
I’m a foot away from the rear of the lorry at 80mph (Police calculation, so I’m more than happy to go with that;)) and hit the front brake… DOH!!
Front goes, I smack the deck, out cold, bike hits lorry, I go up hedge, I go back down hedge, I wake up sliding down road looking at multiple truck wheels a couple of feet from me… I’m out cold again.
Medics were ace as where the police and people who attended… came out with cracked rib, bruising and hip damage… the morphine was ace!!
But I was a very lucky boy… I ride like fairy ever since

Lovely looking bike, but yeah have to agree if I was spending that much cash I’d want a little bit more. BUT they’ll get it right, it’s a blinding start from KTM
