Rant About Being a Women Rider

Oddly enough, all of the biking coppers I’ve encountered have been entirely cool people - and I dare say some may even be socialist intellectuals or open-minded liberals. The force just isn’t what it was…

Being patronised certainly sucks, and so does being expected to wear pink leathers.

When it comes to stupid comments, I suspect that my being tall deflects a fair amount of the nonsense about being a woman on a big bike. Well, that and the fear I might lam them one!

Know just a little how you feel.

Got a tug a couple of years back for getting the jump on an unmarked traffic car at the lights. (Good timing for once.)

Pulled over into a lay bye and took keys from ignition and pocketed them, (god, I hate the way they feel they have the right to take them straight away) so I’m undoing the helmet when this 20 something starts talking to (patronising) me as “sonny”.

Interesting reaction when I took off the helmet and he was confronted with a quite “mature” rider. Suddenly I was “sir” with no sarcasm.

NOW…?..CAN WE BURN BRA’S !?!

smiled:).

Girls? On bikes? Whatever next?

i was wondering so as not too upset any of the members of the opposite gender riders what is the politically correct term?

lady biker, woman biker, girl biker, female biker???

or are you just bikers, so as not to differentiate between genders as that could be classed as some sort of discrimination:P:D:)

I love Girl Bikers esp the hot ones geez who wouldnt

And I Run a heavy goods work shop and i would love a lovely lady working for me in a non pervy way but you are better to look at

Women on bikes? Entirely all good, wish there was more of them - the only ones I dislike are the ones that are faster than me…so that’s quite a lot!

Shame really but stereotyping starts when you give your boy child a gun and your girl child a doll?

Just laugh in their faces.

LOL, flying close to the wind my friend  I love the look on peoples faces when they realise ‘my bike’ is not a hairdryer but actually my gorgeous boy Charlie the CBF600, (admittedly only the non bikers and mostly men) I love being a biker and on the flipside any bikers i have met have always been really inclusive, ive never ever been made to feel like an outsider and have never been ashamed to ask when ive had a problem - you guys rock (especially the pee takers its great to know we can all give as much as we get;) Ive made some outstanding friends on LB and actually find the women that I have met on here much more down to earth than the average female - no bitchiness as we all have a real common goal - just riding our steeds  - the blokes have been alright as well I suppose :D;)

Girls on bikes always get my thumbs up!!

They are far more interesting then non bikers!!

Specially if they ride sports bikes!!:w00t:

Miggy you’re such a kiss ass!!

PMSL! That hit my chuckle-button

I was going to say “there there, dear” to the OP, but I’m just kidding honest. I think women on bikes are way cool

You wouldnt believe the number of accidents Ive caused on track days, just because Im a girl on an SV and the bloke on the R1 didnt like that I overtook him round the outside, knee down round Gerrards…

Be proud of it chick - who wants to conform!? :hehe:

Women bikers are cool, like women drummers – and i hope this comes across right-- there’s a certain something, allure??? i mean susanna hoffs was the best looking bangle but the drummer was the one i noticed on top of the pops.

I bet you do that deliberately just to see how many laps it takes before they fall off?!? lol

:unsure::Whistling::blush:

Thought so, you are a bad girl Gabby, keep it up!!

I gave him loads of space! It was his own fault! :w00t:

My other half passed her test on Friday last week, so there’s another one to add to the argument! She still needs to buy a bigger bike, though (A2, so we’ll have to restrict). Money’s a bit tight at the moment, so she’s looking at things she can sell to raise the money! lol

Now I know this might sound like I’m taking the pi$$ however hear me out…

My ex-girlfriend sold loads of her old clothes/shoes/handbags on e-bay when she finally had a clear out. She got rid of loads of stuff which she either didn’t wear anymore, which didn’t fit her or she just didn’t like, it’s amazing how many other people will buy this stuff online and she made enough to pay for a nice holiday.

She had a Crescent Suzuki fleece, which sadly was too short in the arm for me to acquire, that she sold on e-bay for more money than she originally bought it for at the Beaulieu Bike Show…

So get clearing her closet and see what you can raise, she could be out on that bigger bike before she know’s it, oh and congratulations to her for passing her test!
