radars?

are there any good (actually work) radar detectors for picking up on speed cameras? excluding ones with satnav. thank you

anyone?

I’m using a Snooper in the car, I do around 500 miles a week. It’s kept my licence clean for the past 4 years.

Can be a little annoying that it does give lots of bleeps in town. But worth it’s weight in gold for those nasty hidden mobile traps (or do I mean safety cameras), which you don’t get with a SatNav GPS based system.

I have recently purchased a Bell detector than you can hide under the dash, just in case they do become illegal in the future.

Don’t use in France, my mate got caught with one, £2k bail and pending court appearance!

sounds decent, are these devices small enough to put in a sports bike? i have a zx636 and space is severally limited. i can find somewhere but roughly how big are these things and is their a visual feature to show a camera eg led or something that i can mount?

I got inforad for motorcycle on my daytona.
Good for fixed cameras but no radar detector…

by radar you mean gatso? like handheld devices? how effective is the inforad?

I’ve got a road angel in my car which I havent used for ages, was pretty good - I’m gonna dig it out and hook it up on the bike

Bel make a bike specific detector. My detector has saved me hundreds of times and I wouldn’t leave home without it.

Do you think they will work in Norway?

some are gps based and would have to be loaded with the camera locations of your country other work on laser and frequencies and so should work anywhere

My Bell 550 I use in the car has been very good, gives plenty of notice of gatsos that are turned on (only about 1 in 5 or 6) and even laser.

itis an LED warning system based of a gps and a database of the fixed and known mobile camera so the system is as good as the database. In UK it is excellent. I am not even sure if the have any database for outside UK

We had the inforad, when it worked it worked fine but that was very rare. When there’s alot of cloud it wont pick up a satellite signal.

ye im not too confident with these gps based systems firstly as their are many new cameras cropping up everywhere and so updates will have to be done on a regular basis. and secondly im a mac user and most of the gps type detectors seem to work with windows to process updates :S

Neither the Snooper nor the Bel are GPS based, so they work anywhere. I’ve used the Snooper in the US, but it is better to get one specific to the region where you intend using it (ie Europe/North America/ Asia).

You should be OK in Norway as I believe they use the same technology as the UK.
