R6 - original bodywork?

Hi guys, I’ve been looking and found a good deal on an R6, but being new to bikes im not sure whether this is the original bodywork for the bike. Its from maverick motorcycles so I dont know what the reputation is with them.
Anyway I’ve tried checking google for the same paintwork and can’t seem to find the same one. Could anyone tell me if this is an original bodywork color and if its a uk bike?

Thanks in advance.

It looks like a 2000 or 2001 and if it is then it is right. They came in red/white and blue/white. I had the blue/white.

Yep, looks like a nice clean example of a standard 2002 model:)http://www.bikez.com/pictures/large.php?image=http://www.bikez.com/pictures/yamaha/2002/19947_0_3_4_yzf-r6_Image by Yamaha. Published with permission…jpg

thanks for reply, but advert listed it as a 1999 model? Maybe they took the bodywork from another R6?

As per my siggie, I have a 2000 W Reg. It has more white than the red in that pic of yours

The ones after mine less white and more black/red. If it was 2002 onwards that would be the right colour… Think it looks the best colour to be honest.

If thats a 1999 bike then I would be most cautious and pay special attention to the frame and fairing mountings. It’s obviously had a complete new set of clothes and you have to ask why?

Also look to see if the sump bolt and caliper bolts have been drilled. A sure sign its been ragged on track:cool:

Thanks guys, thats what I was worried about having a whole new body on. For me it gives me an idea the bike has been crashed or damanged enough to replace the whole body. After calling them they say its 1999 model, I think with my experience with buying bikes close to nil I’ll stay clear from this one.
