Impressive machine, but it’s hardly a looker, is it ?.
The white one with the pink frame is particularly awful.
The black one looks like a cat with its chest puffed out 
Went to Brands Hatch Yamaha for the launch this evening, not my sort of bike.
Did get to get a good look over a Ténéré and meet a very nice chap called Shaun who’s Touratech sponsored on the same bike. he’s done the Dakar and taken his Ténéré down to Moroco and the Atlas mountains.
Taking the Ténéré for a test ride on Tue/Wed, as soon as they register the demo on Monday :D, and will do a bit of a write up on it.
Someone like it and go buy one?!

mmmmmmmmm…unsure of it lookwise, that red/pink(lol) frame is a no-no…and i guess there’ll be a lot of tail tidy’s sold !!! should have one on the dyno soon tho will keep you posted ! 
The pictures i see from American launch of the bike didnt have the pink frame they were black ???
Fella at work has just bought a black one. Nicer looking in the ‘flesh’ thats for sure and +1 on the tail tidy comment!
Clever move with the fairing side panels plenty of advertising space there for race teams to sell something early models lacked.

I think its more of a kind of maroon colour, but I quite like it, just not keen on the front or the shape of the swingarm. I like the colour scheme, just not really the overall thing. It has a very roomy seat, tho! Was also really odd to see the vid of Rossi on a road bike in his MotoGP leathers… kicking the back out :w00t:

dont generally get excited about Jap 4s but just heard the 09 R1 with Akras at my local store. unbelievable, at low revs it sounds like a twin crossed with a v4 or something. can’t wait to hear one at the track. am seriously tempted . and not bad looking in black at all.
Not to mention winning at its 1st WSBK meeting with a ‘rookie’ rider!!!
I actually like it a lot, I think the red frame works well with the white plastic, and how pimp are the white rearsets. Does need white wheels to set it off tho’. And of course there are a couple of minor tweaks I’d have to make…
I like the red frame and the colour scheme, not sure on the alien eye look of the front though!
I had a sit on one at Rex Judds and give it some revs and it does sound nice even with standards cans, it looks a whole heap better with aftermarket cans and a tail tidy. I wasn’t interested at first but after reading some write ups, I need me a test ride, lol
+1 on the rear end - I think it came out the same shed as the b-king! (harsh eh! lol)
