Any one ever tried a hairy r 1/5th throttle? …just fitted one…cant wait till sunday try it out on the track…:D:D:D:D:w00t: fitted, smaller front sprocket, too , should be fun!
A hairy throttle !, shouldn,t this be in the adults section ? and personally i wouldn,t brag about a small sprocket
smaller front sproket and a hairy throttle :w00t: you’ll be in the air so much you’re going to have to register your bike as a unicycle
be carefull on the bends is my advice
The Hairy’s R is a good bit of Kit but not really a quick action throttle, totally different to the proper QA throttle on my race bike
i know its not a proper quickaction throttle , but its cheap and seems to work ,and as for the sprocket i just want to get out of corners quicker , The secondgear doesnt get me out of druids or graham hill quickenough and 1st gear does the job but strains the engine to much and locks up the back wheel going into the corners, and got me worried a few times . i can only try ,
its all a learning curve doing trackdays , and im still most defiantlty learning. also comming out of some of the corners in 1st’ has a tendancy to try and highside you:w00t: . and as trackdays are all about fun and pushing yours and the bikes limits ,its gota be worth a try .
well doesnt seem scary as i just took the bike up to fill up with petrol for tommorow , but doubt if i will notice any difference till i get it on the track anyway:) after all its the only place its legal to go as fast as you dare:w00t:
Made a big difference on my trackbike, feel i can hold mid throttle a lot better and can get on the gas earlier. although does make it a bit choppy in the lower gears (1&2)What bike is it? if it has a TPS (throttle position sensor) it may be worth just checking thats still within range too just as a precaution. Also not sure if you did it already but worth glueing it on aswell.
Its a carb’d gsxr 750 srad pic below , so dont think it has a tps? thanks for the tip on the glue will take it apart in a while and do that before i go tommorow:)
It should be a hell of alot of fun
Wwhen I used my K7 1000 on the tarck I never came out of any corner in 1st, tried it a couple of times it either span up or tried to highside me
if your 750 wont pull you out of druids in second, you aint going fast enough
i wont ever go fastenuff!! lol

yes this is what i found but it wasnt untill it did that that i realised i was in first (no gear indicator) and try to remeber what gear im in which is ok till i forget
Well what can i say!! didnt think it made much difference whilst riding to the track this morning, on the track was a different matter i pulled way from pit lane with an acidental wheelie and one on of the laps on the second session i came out of druids in second gave it a handfull and it span the back round and try to highside me:w00t: it was like riding a totally different bike i know i shouldnt of looked …going down the start finish straight but i was doing 155 when i grabbed the brake for padock hill… i have never been able to get over 140 on the std gearing so its made a huge difference on acceleration, The almost highside at druids put me off quiet a bit and slowed me right down for the rest of the session. then it started to rain just before lunch and i wasnt really enjoying my self so much so i did the last wet session before lunch and decided to call it a day , i found holding corner speed a lot easier just wish it would of stayed dry i couldnt be bothered to put the wets on and the kids and wife were getting cold so i packed up . but im very pleased with my 40quid spent on the sprocket and throttle thingy . they put me in group 3 and i dont think im fastenuff to go in that yet . ROLL ON NEXT YEAR , im putting my k6 6gix into track only mode seems a shame as the srad is like a different bike maybe ill keep it as well .
dont think i was in the right mood for today but still had fun , cant wait till next year
