I’ve noticed that you can use Picasa to “web-publish” a whole group of pics off a given subdirectory from your drive, how do you do that? is it free or do you need to subscrive to a fee paying scheme?

I’ve used Picassa a lot to set up galleries and it’s free and pretty simple. Use the Folder menu and ‘export as webpage’ option.
Tell it what size to to the pics in, where to save the gallery, simple stuff really. Then you have to upload all the files onto your site. The ‘index.html’ file is the front page of the gallery so any links will have to hit that. It renames fine, so you can call it whatever you like - useful if you are going to have other galleries launching from the same directory.
