Can bikes still be registered with ‘Q’ Plates, havent seen any around for years. If so does anyone know a good place to by Q Plate bikes?
Cheers

From my ill spent youth, Q plate bikes were usually bikes that were built up from parts that were unidentifiable or mixed and therefore could not be registered under any existing Plate. Most of the Q plate vehicles I knew of were trikes, for instance, where it was a mix of two vehicles and it was impossible to say which should be the registered vehicle.
It is true that I have not seen any in ages either, but they may have changed the rules on them.
Andy (Stretch on here) has a Q plate bike.
I was told (could be borrocks) that DVLA are a bit more liberal about plating bikes now. If you have the old V5 and the frame is “as was”, you can stay with the original plate pretty much whatever you’ve done to the machine.
That’l cut the number of Q plates issued by quite a lot.
My CBR600 is on a Q plate…no problems insuring it or anything else, many moons ago when I left the forces and came back to England they stuck that bike on a Q plate as well
