Progress

Made some progress this weekend. At least the rain is good for something. Still loads to do, waiting on the yokes so I can pin it all together.

Looking good

getting there m8.

Oo done the welding etc on the rear unit?

I want some kind of headlight bracket making up.

Das Niiice

Who’s ya welder?

Looking cool dude (wish i had a welder i would chop my bandit up)

I got a couple of pals have a workshop in Maidstone, after we measured it up they did the very tidy welding. http://www.motoliner.co.uk/ if anyone is intersted.

That’s really cool, I look forward to seeing how it progresses

looking nice mate

whos doing the yokes

A small place in Maidstone a friend of a friend sort of thing. Its the first time he’s done anything that isn’t a straight replication. But it should be OK. He has all the sketches and measurements. I’ll post a pic once its done, so you can see how they turn out. I dont think hes that expensive either. He only quoted 400 for the lot, top/bottom and risers to accomodate some fatbars.

sweet

thats my next job def get me some pics are they going to be thug yokes?

reason for asking about 500 from tez thats just the yokes

but they are a thing of beuty

its the last thing on my shopping list

apart from sloted cams sprockets

putting on the k cams

drag extensions for swing arm

dyno 2000

rerouted exhaust

new brake and clutch master cylinders

I know the list is neverending.

I dont have the sketches but they’re pretty thick (4 pinch bolts at the bottom).

Its a shame Broscomb ain’t engineering anymore, he did good quality work for reasonable prices. Alot of the main bike engineers prices are quite lumpy, I try to use engineers that dont usually make bike stuff so they dont quite know how much to charge, and are quite eager to try new things.

Where are you getting your exhaust? You should av’ a butchers at http://www.campbellcustom.co.uk/ he does loads of one off stuff and he’s only based in Orpington.

nice job mate…what swingin arm is that, and how was it to fit

Its an r1 03. loved the banana shape.

It went in easy enough, had to shave 2mm of either side of the bandit and the shock mount was very similar to the bandits existing one, the centre stand had to be changes slightly to fit the linkage. I wanted to hide the subframe so we modded the mount to act as a brace for the top of the subframe.

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Looking good mate…I spoke to your man in Maidstone today about a little welding work on my R1.

No it’s nothing serious…Was just interested in welding some metal hooks into the sub frame so that I can successfully carry luggage on the bike.

What were Yamaha thinking not have included some bungee hooks on the bike

I might also get the frame alignment checked…Especially after the drops the bike has had.

Did you tell him you knew big sexy Tel?
