If anyone has ever had any computer or laptop problems you know what a hassel it is to go down to the shop, get a big quote back in return, and know most of your work is going to be lost/deleted… whatever! - OK, I don’t know much about computers but I DO know that PC World was going to charge me £130 to look at my laptop and restore it minus many, many things.
Then I remember seeing a post from the Sleeper (aka Karl) offering his services.
I have nothing but praise for him! He picked up my laptop (I only live down the road from him though) and communicated with me every step of the way. AND at a fraction of what PC World were going to charge me.
My laptop completely crashed on me while I was halfway through doing coursework, couldn’t get it started again, I can’t remember exactly what it was but it was serious… I wasn’t sure if it could ever recover… luckily Karl was quick to recover it and bring it back to life! Phew!
Yes it took me a while and alot of jiggery pokery and a complete re-install but we got there in the end…
I have to say I was shocked when I saw the price list in PC World and to see £130 is only onsite price if PC world had to send it away it would have cost alot more…
But thankyou for your comment GP it has cheered me up somewhat…
Keep your chin up about your career issues. You’re obviously able to do this type of work, and with more and more people being issued laptops for work etc there is a market out there for people like you. Why not see if Computer Solutions in WW has any jobs then build up a client base and eventually you could work for yourself.
