So Ray, ex Rosso Corse, has set up his own Italian Specialist Bike Garage in Greenwich, beside Trimoto, and last week I had a load of bits and pieces done to my Monster after it took some punishment at World Ducati Week. On the way home with the bike on Friday night, I got a scary puncture going through the Blackwall Tunnel, and rang the shop, where they waited for me to get recovered by the AA, and next day had my Monster all fixed up with a new rear tyre, wheel balanced, and the damage caused by the 6 inch metal spike all repaired.
Fantastico
You ran over a 6" metal spike the blackwall tunnel?
I did. I heard a bang, back end went wobbly and I managed to get up a sliproad on the side. When I parked up, I thought it was a nail. Mr AA turned up to attend, started pulling it out, and it kept on coming. I will post a picture when I get home. Thankfully it only scraped the inner wheel rim, although it has cracked my rear mudguard/chainguard
Oh hang on I’ve got the picture thing to work. That’s it about halfway out. Nasty!

A dollop of nail glue would have sorted that
Mr AA tried to plug it, however it caused a large gash in the tyre and it wouldn’t hold. Believe me I considered the nail AND the eyelash glue
