We spent a very worthwhile Sunday with the boys of Chelmsford Motorcycle Police. As part of their Essex Bikesafe initiative, aimed at keeping us lot safer on the roads.
And to be honest, I’m very grateful for what I’ve learned, cos I’m a better rider for it.
Consisted of an hour and a half’s class room, reviewing hazard avoidance, road craft etc. Following this, our riding was assesed by an officer through the back country towards Maldon.
We we’re then given tips on speed, road positioning and cornering. By the end of it, we could navigate twisting roads without having to touch our brakes once… still just as quick as the boy racers and ten times safer!
I can’t recommend this enough - it’ll keep you alive longer!
