My laptop can’t see my power commander I only installed PC USB III software available on their website but I guess I also need a driver but can’t find it there…does anyone know where I can find it? or maybe someone has an original PowerCommander USB III installation cd?
Daft question, it the power commander lit up? (ie is it being powered by the bike, you should be able to see the throttle position sensor lights moving when you twist the twisty thing on the bars)
On the Ducati I have to have the engine running, otherwise the 'puter cant see it.
Kris, the R1 only gives power to the PCIII for a few seconds during the R1’s initialisation stage (where all the lights flash). Then it cuts the power until you hit the ignition.
If you are quick and have everything plugged in and your finger over the mouse button, you can switch on the ignition and hit the send map button to load the map.
You’ve only got about 5 seconds though.
Other than that, you can buy a 9v battery to power the PCIII. You should have got a cable that allows the connection of this.
I can see fuel light moving when I rave the engine so it is rather connected properly…will play with it l8…however…I can’t see it connected anywhere near battery (apart from a ground cable). The only other cable goes somewhere under the tank, air filter…I wish I had a garage…
+1 you need to have power to the power commander
My bike need to be running to see it or have the 9v plugged in.
Like I said…
Then it cuts the power until you hit the ignition.
You can’t AFAIK send the map whilst the bike is running…Anyway good luck.
