Well being " LONDONBIKERS.COM " i thought " IT`S A LONDON THING "… innit.
oh gotcha… wise words there, 10 points!!!
Good news re Power Commanders and Insurance
Buck has phoned his insurance co to inform them of his fitting the PCIII and though they took one day to get back to him, when they did the result was that they are not considering it as a valuable mod to justify a policy increase and no need to let the insurance know for those of you who are going the same way.
Basically same thing I was told by my ins. co.
Another wife-tale finally sent to ROOM 101
I dont think that was said, I suggest before you make comments like that you should check your policy… Any modification wether it affects the premium or not the insurance company need to know about it. What you are suggesting Captmofo is total rubbish… So someone following your advise would not inform their insurance comany hopefully not but may have an off and the insurance is invalid because modifications were not noted on the policy…Get a grip on what you are saying and put your brain into gear before using your mouth…
It would be very foolhardy to not inform the insurance company even if it’s just for them to turn round and say that there’s no premium increase etc with a particular mod.
Bear in mind you are also usually insuring your bike for theft… so particular modifications might make your bike attractive to the theif (such as homo erotic additions to the mudguard ). In that respect if your insurance company are uninformed of modifcations/bolt on shite you may have trouble getting paid out fully for theft because so far as they are concerned they are covering a 100% std bike.
Exactly what I was trying to say Biggus… If you are foolish enough to listen to captmofo then do it at your peril… If it doesnt affect your premium get your bike covered. To be honest even if it did dont give the insurance company the excuse not to pay out…
It really isnt rocket science is it!!!
In conclusion the important fact remains that the insurance companies will not be charging people more in premium for having a power commader which makes us all happy. Oh yeah and to be in the good book with them (the insurers) I agree it would be wiser to declare it as a matter of burocracy.
So no… I am sorry if I gave the wrong impression I wouldn’t want people to hold it against me that I am encoraging not to bother declaring the PCIII.
