i wont get involved in the politics of this occasion but at this hightened time of tension in dear old london town, any body who thinks they can drive an apc up the Purple high st without being noticed is not on my list for the quiz team
i think were all glad it was prob just a bunch of students with no job, as trojan pointed out, it could hav been something more sinister, and id hate to have to try and stop one of those things

People put down the police too readily. I for one respect them greatly for doing what is often a crap job (dealing with other people’s misery, stupidity, attitude and arrogance day in day out) whilst all the time aware that if they make a mistake they get it in the neck.
IMO the police are only a ‘problem’ if you are doing something illegal or anti-social - in which case I hope you get all the grief from them you deserve!
Of course there are some crap police out there - that’s life - but (in my experience at least) they are a fantastically professional and dedicated lot . .

got to agree with trojan, but were they actually part of the protest…or was it actually a false alarm. If they were taking it to a protest march partially dressed as a Hong Kong police vehicle then it can only have been for the intention of no good…the current police would have had virtually nothing that could have harmed or stopped that vehicle, although once the tyres are flat they are 11 tons of dead metal…
technically it is an armoured car…has wheels and is armoured…but to the army it was always an APC, and was the model used before they went tracked with the FV432…
I would never take any of my trucks and vehicles into central london…way too dangerous, for everyone else…not for me…
I’m with you on that in fact anything that lays tracks is described as a tank and I get my soap box out and shout at the TV.

Just spotted this at the foot of a report in the Daily Mail (don’t ask!).Among those arrested were 11 held after officers found police uniforms in the back of an armoured vehicle parked in the City of London.
