this morning I ge up thinking nice sunny day off I set not to bad a ride until it starts getting busy then.
some idiot on a deauvale (sure I spelt thet wrong) was delibratly trying to make my life hell, then I do a shouhlder check look forward the van in front was doing an emergency stop I do the same front wheel locks and almost spits me off.
Going along further there is an old school bmw bike in front filtering, next thing a van pulls out on him he took the wing mirror off the van but managed to stay on 2 wheels.
caught up with him to be told he had seen an off so was probably thinking about that to much
got to work speaking to a mate who has told me there was an off around the lod street area I believe…
so clearly it is not a bikers day please take care out there.
There seems to be a rise in the number of ‘idiot’ bikers now the sun is out and they’re out of hibernation. Going far too fast in some places but really poor/slow at filtering and won’t give way.
I also noticed the sunshine on Sunday brought all the fairweather folk out who had their bikes parked up in their garages since September. They either drive far too fast (not having had any experience for a few months) or far too slow (knowing they are out of practise and being uber careful).
It should be made mantatory for motorbike users to use their bike year round. Waivers could be granted for ice and snow and serious hauling missions (beers/children/furniture).
I saw a car on its roof this morning on the A2, New Cross Road… Police closed the road off, had to take a diversion… then on my way back from a job i was filtering and then just about to fit into a gap before approaching the lights when this blonde b1tch in a blue people carrier accelerated and almost pushed me off…sl*t!!
Going along the A13 bus lane this morning with a guy on a BMW behind and to my left, very busy with lots of cars turning out of and into side roads etc and pedestrians all over the place so we were taking it easy, when someone on a KTM untertakes us both between the BM and the pavement, doing at least 60. If we get turfed out of bus lanes next year it’ll be because of people like him.
Following an Astra with 2 black guys in it today coming out of Kingston, driver kept pulling over to the right everytime i was going to overtake at one point he was about 2 feet over the white lines,i could see his mate looking back laughing, got past them, not saying how on-line though.
The end of last week on my way home through Battersea I saw a white guy, aged about 30 in a black 53 reg BMW 4x4 racing bikes and trying to squeeze between them and parked cars etc. He was also regularly cutting up cars in an aggressive way. I don’t know what he had done to the car but it went off like a rocket and he was giving 600cc bikes a good run for their money!
This morning I saw a blonde middle aged woman driving a green car pull right onto the A24 in Balham. She did so without any regard to the bikes using the road she was joinin and nearly hit a small G REG Yamaha trail bike. When I pulled alongside her at a pedestrian crossing I noticed her window was down so simply said “Did you not see the bikes? Or did you just not care?” She seemed to ignore me, but as the lights changed she deliberatly swerved towards me. I dropped back and sat behind her at thenext lights. A small scooter that was behind me passed and started talking to her through her window. This time when the lights changed, she swerved right and pinned the scooter against the traffic island without contacting the bike or rider. I passed on the left and prepared o get my phone out to call 999 in case she did something even more dangerous. As I was fumbling through the layers of clothing to get to the phone (note to self - put it somewhere more accessable next time!) she eventualy moved on due to the lorries behind her making a lot of noise. I could see the scooter rider was OK and moved off before she could aim her car at me. I ended up moving over and lettering her pass on my left as I didn’t want to be anywhere near the lunatic. I passed her with a wide bearth when she was stuck in traffic. I regretably never had a chance ot record her number or I would have reported her.
That - or boot the car door… stop & scream… state till you are blue in the face she hit into your leg… amazing how much better a response you get out of them after…
Geez mate thats mental the problem is I’m reading more of this sort of thing every day… glad your ok though… but as said above, I would have “borrowed” the mirror anyway she clearly does not need them as she was not using them.
Dont you just love white van drivers (in the essence of what they are anyway…)
Ive had my fair share of run ins with them…grr
Only drivers worse (In general) are the private hire cabs…
Just read further in the forum. Oh my goodness. Those people are ridiculous that drive like that. I think they are just jelous that we can actually get through traffic and move around…
You’re right about a different response for that.
Driver gave me a response I’d never have seen coming!! :w00t:, £620 damages, £200 fine and a conviction for criminal damage.
Be careful people!
Good point about the cam… May start looking into that myself. Some people get away with some crazy things… I have had a person literally try run me off the road as I was passing traffic… No I wasnt infringing on their lane. I was still in mine. They just didnt like it. They had what could have easily been a two lane side as well…
