Playstation ads deemed unsuitable for train stations

ADVERTISING for the Playstation console has been banned from Manchester’s train stations because Network Rail fears that it could lead to a rash of suicides.

One ad, which was placed on a platform, said: “Take a running jump from here”, which is a sharp contrast to the usual safety notices. In the unlikely event that someone was seized by the impulse to follow the sign’s instruction they would end up on the tracks.

Staff at the Piccadilly underground station were told to cover up the poster as soon as possible.

Network Rail is a little sensitive about its safety messages lately as there have been several incidents where people have been hit by trains.

“A 60-year-old woman needed hospital treatment after being hit by a tram in Piccadilly Gardens, it is not clear if she read a Playstation advert or ignored a mind the gap notice.”

Sony, which makes Playstation, told More the Manchester Evening News it did not wish to comment.

So what about the posters we can see in some areas in Soho? lol
