Pirelli on a CBR

Has anyone had experiance with pirellis on there 07 cbr? I was thinking about getting a set of corsa III. How does it comapre to the bridgestone BT015 for grip and life?

Its really going to come down to the rider (thats you) rather than the bike, I love Pirelli’s and if I were you I would run a set of Corsa III there a great road and trackday tire.

There dual compound gives you the best of both worlds, FWR will fit them for around £230, But just because I like them doen’t mean you will?

I’d be looking at Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs unless you are using the bike on track and are fast enough to keep heat in the tyres to maximise the tyres grip abilities.

Pirellis in general take longer to warm up and cool down quicker than Michs in my experience and because the Michelin’s offer amazing dry or wet weather traction and long life on the road, to me it’s a no brainer.

My opinion.

Are you on commission or something?:stuck_out_tongue:

HAha funny stuff so he works for pirelli and yamaha now eh? I mainly asked about the pirelli’s though due to that £25 discount thing from the bike show.

Has anyone fitted these new Pirelli Diablo Rosso’s? They promise big things:w00t:

I had the Pirelli’s on my old 07 CBR and they were amazing! Felt so much more responsive than the old ones and you feel safer going over further. Do it, do it, do it. You won’t regret it

What do you mean old CBR have you changed it over already?? How long did the tires last you?

The guys at the Pirelli stand said they were just a new sports tire, but not his first choice for fast road or track riding, for that he picked Corsa III

I have a beautiful 57 CBR too  I put the Corsa III on my 07 bike and they are great. I would highly recommend them. I’ve only done about 500 miles on them so far…

supercorsa is a fantastic tyre, I’m a long term fan of it, but because of it’s very rounded profile fitted on the blade (you have the 1000RR, right?) makes the bike a bit heavier and more difficult to handle. When I had the Blade I had to switch on the Michelin PowerRace and Metzler racetech (same compounds than Pirelli but more V-shaped profile).

I had the corsa III’s on my last bike and they were great in the summer… “interesting” in the wet tho…got 2cts on my R1, but since Ive only had it a week, no idea yet!

now when you say interesting in the wet do you mean scare you silly?

No…Crap :laugh:In honesty, I tried a Diablo / Dragon Supercorsa Pro combination on my R1 around Cadwell Park in the wet and didn’t have any issues, didn’t like the way they made the bike turn into corners though…Felt unstable.

lets say 4th gear wheelspins in the wet!

Altho, this was only because they werent very warm, oops. That aside, great tyres in the summer, never had the bike so far over without em.
