Pinlock

Mark had the same problem on trackdays and doesn’t use pinlocks. He used to tape up the front of the helmet under the visor over the nose/mouth bit but then he got a nose thingy…can’t remember what it’s called but you can buy them, they go in your helmet over your nose… I don’t know anyone who likes the things across their nose but for the sake of being able to see for 20 mins sessions it works. I think they’re about a tenner.

(Will try and dig out his trackday helmet to see what it is)

buy a shoei?

or an arai, evan better

Terry’s probably moving faster than me…Whilst flying through the air after incorrectly performing a stoppie  Actually…I don’t know, but I think it’s something wrong with my visor, which is starting to chip. That anti fog spray didn’t work either.

That was uncalled for Ang…True nonetheless

The idea was to avoid buying a new helmet.

Thought you had problems with your shoei misting

Quote from JB “had an ‘interesting’ moment in one of the later sessions where my race visor fogged up fully. tried to clear the blummin thing but no joy, altho was improving but it really screwed with my speed perception. got graham hill fairly wrong going down the hill and decided not to chance it, and went for a little pootle up the grass bank and back again, flipped the visor up, bit of a ‘sorry’ wave to the marshall, then off we go again. [Tongue] got it on film!”

:hehe:

Right this is all you need, it does the trick and alot cheaper than buying a new helmet.

Got a fog city visor insert in my lid and its just starting its 2nd winter, really good IMO but you have to clean visor properly to start and really take time fitting it, I only have probs with my glasses misting if I forget to use a fog spray on them.

In my experience, the inserts work A LOT BETTER on new visors.

In fact, I’d recommend getting a new visor every year or so anyway. It’s almost like getting a total new helmet, but it only costs a few quid. Changed my visor and pinlock last week and couldn’t believe what an improvement it was on my (18 month) old one. And the rain runs off it a lot better then the old one (I suppose there’s some sort of coating that wears off over time)

Affro - (if you havn’t sorted something already) if your fogcity insert is fogging up - its not fitted correctly - or its lost its seal (if you put your visor in a visor bag a lot this will make it lose its seal)

just buy a new one - clean your visor and insert it carefully!

Probably a bit late but not sure if this helps mate.It does state fitment for a few AGV lids.http://www.thevisorshop.com/acatalog/Product_Catalogue_Pinlock_Replacement_Inserts_419.html:slight_smile:

Thanks for the comments peeps…Forgot about this thread.

Anyway, yesterday I purchased a Pinlock universal system for my AGV from Bandit Bikes in the city. Was worried when they said they don’t work on all visors and can even shatter some.

Got them to fit it and all is working well so far…Still get a lot of fogging around the edge of the insert, but my main vision remains clear. My peripheral vision is reduced considerably though due to the edge fogging.

Sean…I think my Fog City needs replacing actually like you said…May just buy a new one before I go to France.

Thanls for all the tips peeps…Cheers.
