Pinlock 'Universal' Kit

Hi,

Does anyone know where to get a Pinlock universal kit from ? Their website says they do one, but I can’t find it for sale anywhere (my helmet is a Box helmet and there don’t seem to be any bespoke kits for it).

…or if anyone knows any other alternative anti fog/mist tips (both inside and outside the visor) I’m all ears !

Cheers.

Warblade bought a pinlock for his AGV helmet and it appeared to be not compatible. I manage to drill holes at place where they should be (original example wasn’t compatible with his helmet). I think you can buy a pinlock similar to your helmet, find a center place and drill holes on your visor. Easy job to do. :P. If you in doubt then contact me, I will help you with that.

Don’t drill an Irridium visor - high chance it will shatter as the Irridium dip seriously weakens the visor.

Personally I would just buy an adhesive one.

The alternative to consider is a breath guaurd.

You can get self adhesive ones from here

There must be other stockists but that’s my local bike shop and I noticed them when I went in last time.

Thanks for the replies and offers of help - it’s not just internal mist from my breath that’s the problem, it’s external mist also (as I go to work and back on my bike) - I needed to go on the bike early last Thursday morning and ended up having to ride with my visor open as the outside had misted up ! I assume the adhesive ones only combat internal mist ?

I don’t mind drilling my visor (it’s a clear one) but don’t know which kit to go for as I don’t know which one will fit my visor best

…unless there are any other tips / advice / magic tricks anyone else knows ? :Whistling:

I seem to remember hearing that Infinity on GPS can put the pins in for you when you by pinlocks from them

(i could be wrong but worth asking)

As for external mist… that is probably from the atmospheres humidity not your breath. A mate of mine had a litlle cholk thingie that he rubbed on my visor (now that sounded dirty…) and didnt get misty,

also ppl say that a little bit of soapwater works (havent tried it myself)

If you don’t want to mess about drilling your visor then try a Fog City.

For outside mist and rain I used to swear by Vee Wipes from Bob heath. Its a little rubber wiper blade that fits over your glove finger. Works very well but can be easily lost though:angry:

If you are still looking for a pinlock. Try Harpers in Leigh on Sea
