when I took out my policy they asked if i wanted to be covered for a pillion , but said no.
Now i would like the option , but do you pay more ?

i doubt it i checked to see if the price of my insurance changed when selecting pillion but it didnt.

It didn’t change mine with E-Bike on the SR.
I phoned up to say I’d passed my test, and the premium didn’t change. Then I phoned up to check I had pillion cover, and it also didn’t change.
jc, can you let us know if it does affect premium please, a nice to know. 
Just called em up , Equity Red Star policy through Express Insurance.
Turns out I had pillion insurance added already !
Go figure !

Depends on the company maybe
They will ask you to see if you want it. Even if you say no, they will give it if it costs nothing. Depending on your age/inexperience/accident record, it might be expensive. Carrying a pillion if you are young/and/or newly qualified your chances of an accident, and the cost of claims, when carrying a pillion are several times that if you are not. It is probably people showing off that boosts the statistics.
