You see that’s why I failed 10 ‘o’ levels…never read the bloody question… Either it’s that he became boss of Ducati Corse or he won more races in 1988 WSB than anyone else but still managed to come 3rd in the championship? Or is there some other darker secret about him I don’t know?
He actually won the first ever race of World Superbikes in 1988 at Donnington.
Also in 1988 in Australia he was lapped in both races by a young pup called Michael Doohan:w00t:

I worked out very quickly it was a Bimota, took a while to work out who was riding in though… good one
