I had one of those once in a lifetime biking moments this morning.I was just heading west through the Upper Thames Street Tunnel this morning, listening to Pink Floyd’s "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (part 1), when I suddenly emerged from the tunnel into bright sunshine, vivid blue sky, clear road ahead and green lights, at exactly the time that the drumroll comes in and those famous chords kick in at about the 4 minute mark (4:10 on the video below)…
The ride home from Didcot on my first new CBR6 (1989? ). Doing Brand Indy Circuit on knobbly tyres (XL600) Getting the most of the B1057 right on The BCR. Rioting on The BCR after doing it for too long 2up on the 900ss.:w00t: When a dear friend passed her bike test first time! Watching said friend ride home from Finchingfield like she meant it! Peeling into corners late on the brakes then getting the drive in early on The1 on Sunday weeks BCR on the B1057:) Being able to stay with Big Money John’s 916SP on the main straight at Brands Hatch cause I had a CR500SM instead of the XL!
I had this the other week riding through Wales, beautiful scenery, had my iphone on shuffle and on comes Metallica, The Unforgiven III, the start of the song fitted the scenery so well then the song kicked in and so did the twisties, awesome :smooooth: was perfect, gave me goose pumps and made me smile
It’s amazing the difference that music can make sometimes.
I was coming home from work on the lovely twisty that leads to my house on one of the sunnier days last week, iPhone on shuffle, and this long-forgotten track came on.
To say it put a grin on my face is an understatement. :hehe: It was so much fun, I had to go back and do the road again!
Passed 2 cop cars at the end of the Westway this afternoon, accelerated up the last hump past 'em from about 2500 rpm, loud blatting indeed. And no helmet.
