I ride up to SE1 every day from Medway (Nr to Medway Hospital) but I never have had time to turn up at a BMM yet… not sure what route other people take into town from Medway if they go via all the roundabouts in Lewisham… I just stay on the A2 over Blackheath through New Cross (which is the worst part of the journey in my opinion) and then whizz down the Old Kent Road to the Elephant & Castle…
And there was me thinking “shall I join LB or not, when I live and ride in Kent…” .

I don’t suppose you work on any of the paediatric units do you? If so, we’ve probably met… one of my kids is a regular on Penguin ward, and the Oliver Fisher Unit… and two other of my kids spent 12 weeks in the Oliver Fisher Unit…:rolleyes:

Hi and welcome from another of the Kent contingent (albeit part of Kent that’s a bit further down the M2).
I don’t often ride up to BMM as I work nearby and usually get the train to work (there’s nowhere to park the bike). I used to ride the route to Lambeth everyday and would use the Blackheath/Old Kent Rd one as well… forget the roundabouts in Lewisham, they sound like a nightmare!

The Lewisham roundabouts are fun, I try to avoid New Cross
Bloody small world or what, all these London bikers living in the Medway area, just to add to the story, I live in Selsdon,Surrey), its near Croydon really, Surrey sounds better, thats like saying I live in Kent near the historic navel yards, the famous Dickens world and Rochester Castle, when in fact you live in Chatham).
Anyway I used to work in Strood running the Tesco store and last year I moved to the Chatham branch, If your passing or your brave enough to go near the multistorey car park at the rear of the store pop in a say Hi.
Pictures at the front of the store, can’t miss me Im the ugly guy, just ask for me by name and I’ll treat you to a cup of tea/coffee.

I may well do, although that Tesco is vile and I try to avoid like the plague! Whatever did you do to deserve getting moved to that one? Sinc I am more towards Capstone, I go to Rainham, or Hempsted for shopping.
I must have upset someone in a previous life. Not really, it was due a major refit last year , hence the move, looks like it will happen sometime in the 2008/2009, don’t hold your breath its been due to happen for the last twenty years.

IMO thats the best way into SE1 from Medway, i go that way out to see my Parents in Hildenborough
used to take A2/M25/M20 to Maidstone hosp until my mum moved down to Ticehurst, (A21) now thats a crappy visit after work in the winter i can tell you!
