Party MysteryAuction! (For London Air Ambulance)

Update!Winners of auction items who didn’t pay on the night can now pay online with a credit/debit card or PayPal account. Go to the following page and hit the donation button at the bottom and enter the amount you owe. Contact Foxy if you’re unsure of the amount.

As it costs us to use PayPal, if you’re participating in the season of good-will, you can add 5% to the amount to cover our costs, otherwise we will have to pay a significant amount on top of all online payments. Thank-you.

As you should know, we’re doing something special at the Christmas Party next Friday; we’re holding an auciton to raise money for our charity, the London Air Ambulance (LAA), but we’re doing it with a twist to make it exciting! It’ll be a mystery auction, so all the items we’ve had donated will be wrapped up so you can’t see them. You’ll be given some time to examine the boxes to perhaps get an idea, and then we’ll start the auction where you can bid for the item!

It’s all for fun and charity, the LAA service is essential to not only bikers in London, but everyone else who’s seriously injured and needs swift medical help. We’ve been working hard to secure great items for everyone to bid on, currently about £5k’s worth of products! The beauty of this is that you might very well get a right bargain, and on the other-hand, you’re always going to be helping the LAA.

The current list of donations looks like this:

Now come on, tell me, is there not a number of things on that list that you’d like? So get your tickets to the party and get your bids in! It’ll be great :)This auction wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our charity sponsors, so we’re hugely grateful for their help. Please support them, to support us!

Nice one Jay, you have obviously been hard at work with your begging bowl mate;)

Just two questions…

1/ With clothing/helmet items, will the winner be able to choose what size they get?

2/ Will the monies be due on the night or after the event?

Good questions!

[1] Most sized items are voucher based, so you can get the right size for you. This has all been agreed with the sponsors, so no messing about.

[2] Hadn’t thought of this, but I guess we can extend credit for winners who want to pay later.

…but not 12 months interest free…

Damn right!

Look at those items… £250 from Infinity, any jacket from Dainese (some are £500) and a signed James Toseland SBK framed picture. Er, hello? Those are bloody awesome! And that’s jus the tip of the iceberg!

Umm, I presume everyone’s so totally amazed at the items we’ve got for the auction that they’re too dumb-struck to reply here?

We’ve now secured a Silverstone GP trackday (any one in 2008) from our Trackday partners, Focused Events. How good is that?!

See you all tomorrow! Bring your readies!

Nice work Team LB:cool:

Wow! The auction went really well! Chris from Bracken did an amazing job of presenting it I think, with the help of Kester and Foxy. We’ve raised a fantastic amount which we’ll divuldge soon once a proper news piece has been released.

Winners can now pay for their lots online, see the first post for details how to do this easily.

A huge thank-you to everyone who bidded and won the lots, without your help we couldn’t have raised the much-needed cash for the London Air Ambulance! You guys and girls rock!

I got the K&N air filter.

For me it was a mystery auction, as I often couldn’t hear what was up for grabs. Hey, it was for a very good cause, just I kept bailing :hehe:
Looking at the state of my bike this morning, I should have gone for the bike clean too :ermm:
