parking in sainsburys

Is the parking time limit applied to motorcycles as well?

asking for a friend

My superstore grabs the reg from the front but there are workers who leave bike at the storefront bike bay/path

My local supermarket recently had new car park signage erected. It now starts out ‘All vehicles…’

Yes but as Brains_t says it’s normally a anpr camera on the front plate that triggers the start time.

If you do it regularly and someone notices then you might get a letter, but was it’s private property they’ll have to go via the courts to get the fine which most don’t bother with and hope the scary letter they send makes you pay up.

You can ignore the letters but if they escalate the matter to the high court they’ll come round and take your bike if it’s a sizeable asset.

Since when have you had a local supermarket

Our local Sainsbury’s has ANPR and parking wombles. So they get you either way.

Tis the curse of living in the sticks. 3 miles to an overpriced co-op, or 10 miles or so to a Tesco for me.

On the plus side, you don’t get hassle parking like you do in the big smoke.

It's not High Court, it's county court.  And ignore them at your peril, you could do that because no one had actually taken it throught the entire legal proceedure, which was done a couple of years ago, the courts found in favour of the claiment ie the parking enforcement company.  Now it is a matter of proceedure to issue county court summons for the invoice, and if you ignore you can end up having a summary judgement against you, and the resulting CCJ.

It is a subject that does inflame people, and I’ve seen it from the over side of the fence with people parking in our private car park where I live as the roads where full and they need to catch the local train to work.

If people weren’t so selfish then we probably wouldn’t need this.

In the Socialist Republic of Brent in the big smoke, we don't need to park our motorcycles in Sainsbury because we get free parking in all pay and display and residents' bays.

Yes it’s the County Court first but if you keep ignoring and hiding from their bailiffs the claimant can apply to have the case upgraded to the high court and then they send sheriffs round who have more powers. They love vehicles because they are easy to seize if they are free of finance. They can’t force entry into your home though which is why seizing vehicles is desirable.

i expected a y/n answer but forgot what forum i was posting in! :D
