Parking - Frame and Shame

Yes we’ve all seen it but it’s time to show how careless some bikers are…
I hate when I get to work in the morning and I see some tw@t parking…

My first pic to gallery:

if I turned up and the kawasaki and the fazer was already there id prob do the same? you cant really fit two bikes in there anyway…

thing with ‘bad parking’ you dont know what order people have parked. if there was someone else there, if it was moved etc.

unless you see someone park up and walk off then you dont know the full story and cant judge

Sorry but you could easily fit a scoot and a bike in that space without having to ram them in.
As we all know space is at a premium in central London bays and that is just inconsiderate.

I agree though, you never know whether the bike was moved or not by someone else.

if that Kwaki in the middle parked straight I would fit my Z there, I was about to move the Kwaki but had locked sterring and alarm on so gave up…

London is so tight with parking and everyone knows it. I hate when someone parks not to the line, across etc. When I see buch of stupidly parked mopeds I lift them and move so they are parked the way they should be…

i dont know… maybe you could fit two scooters but to make room for one and the versys youd have to put the versys so close to the other bike that you wouldnt be able to lean it onto the sidestand, anw thats wasnt my point

There should be some HOW-TO on parking in london made. I will start taking pictures and maybe will write something up soon.

Dont understand the people who park opposit way aswell, front wheel to kerb, by doing that bike leans other way on sidestand and takes more space…

I meant a scoot and the Versys in that space, so one extra PTW if both FZ and the Z were straight. Not sure if I made that clear. Anyways everyone has a different view on how close to park I guess. I’m used to it being very tight in Soho (ooh err)

Arnie! Vie gehts? czesc!

Long time.

This is why i have started to use the westminster parking lot near work because i’m fed up of turning up to the bay and having all these stupid scooters parked in various stupid ways and i can’t park because there is no room…

parking in soho is terrible… I bet all these pople who own nice new bikes are looking through windows constantly to check up on their prides.

I reckon the key here is to park next to the line of bikes rather than starting your own line or starting at the other end of the bay. If everyone did this there would be less of a problem.

Would add too that what that photo says to me is that the Versys owner made a conscious decision to park like that to avoid someone squeezing in and possibly damaging his bike in the process.

After all it is quite annoying when you get back to your bike and someones parked so close that you can’t even raise the bike off the sidestand. I always try and think how much space the bike that’s already parked will need to get out- because I know if I don’t leave enough space it is highly likely they will brush my mirror on the way out. On occasion I have parked too close and found my mirror folded in- which in my books is fair enough if I parked too close.

This is valid too. I once went back to my bike to find an ancient BMW R80 which was so wedged in that it was being held up by my bike and the bike next to it. When I squeezed my bike out, it fell over onto the tarmac, as it didn’t have a stand. A right bugger of a thing to then lift up and put on its centrestand. My Ducati leans a long way over on its stand so there’s always space for me to get on. It’s getting out past the topbox that’s the problem!

heheh, i’ve once parked a bike in and couldn’t get off a bike due to how tight i’ve parked eventually managed to get out and then when it was time for me to move off it took me ( i kid you not ) about 10 min to get the bike out

ok another bike in the same bay, I actually saw this fazer parked on friday on the same street, just wasn’t bothered to take a pic, but now I can see fazer’s owner parks on daily basis like that

when I arrived

then parked my Z next to the bike which was parked correctly, if the fazer parked right I could park another Z without problems next to it, and it’s not that small bike

If you could fit two bikes in there I suggest you change your user name to Paul Daniels!

I think there may be another thing at play here. If the Fazer parked at right angles to the kerb it looks like the front wheel would be slightly over the line of the bay. I’ve know wardens to give PCNs for this.

I will make a pic how I was parking my Z. Always my sidestand outside the bay.

By 2 bikes I ment my Z and one extra in the spot Fazer took by parking across.

another one this morning:

as long as it aint parked parallel to the bay I couldn’t care less. The problem here is the amount of motorbike parking bays available and not how someone has parked a few degrees out.
