Parking fee - can I contest by any chance?

Going back to the breakdown scenario, when the red routes first started it was quite common for both the broken down vehicle and the breakdown vehicle to get done…

As I recall “common” sense usually prevailed.

Perhaps as you riding along you thought a wasp had entered your open visor and had to stop to check you weren’t going to get stung (and it just happened that your girlfriend was waiting by the side of the road for a lift, and before you knew it she had jumped on)

Also why not check that all the signage is correct according to the regs.

“Check out what Royal Mail vans get away with in the name of loading and unloading”

I believe still do receive tickets, however are cancelled on appeal.
Loading is…loading. It is not setting down passengers or popping into the shop. You may set down passengers or unload on a double yellow, provided the kerb hash is single & signage permits. You can even do so in a bus lane (but not a bus stop). The onus is on the driver to prove this, should you receive a ticket.
However a double red route does not permit stopping of any kind!
Appeal if you want. I dont agree with it either.
