New chain and sprockets arrived today as well as the items for the XTX’s 6k service.
All I need now is some paddock stands front and rear.
Any reccommendations, especially the front as the yoke is obviously quite high up on an SM.

Bought a scissor lift stand off eBay for £39.99, lifts the whole bike off the ground and is great for cleaning and general tinkering around. There are more expensive ones but had to slip this one in under the wifes bike spend radar!!!
hahahahahahahahah lol @ Londondrz…
Not funny Lady P, she is getting canny in her old age. When I had the R6 she noticed the new Acropovic even though I had taken the can end label off. I swear she took loads of photos of the DRZ when new and checks it every now and agin to see if I have added any other bits. I had to get a new eBay account as she checks my origional one every week!!
Thanks londondrz, I’ll start saving and get one of them, they sound good
Sounds like you need to rent a garage, take the car to the bike then nip out for your rides. Just dont tell the mrs where the new garage is
Thumper, you could be onto something there. Mind you, what sort of excuses would I have to make for being away for a long while, coming back all hot and sweaty and smiling a lot. She might get the wrong idea.
hahahahahaha
I was gonna say cover yourself in mud… but that might look worse!
I think you might need to take up a sport. Hide yer leathers in the garage with the bike. Arrive in the car with say… a football strip on, “off to play footie honey”… might work
Problem is she knows that the only time I EVER run is near closing time!! No chance of football as an excuse.
You’re screwed
Just get her to take up biking, I guarantee she’ll spend more money than you, women love to shop - fact
Bought her all the riding gear when I had the R6, wore it twice and then the bike was nicked. Anyone looking for ladies leather in a size 8 let me know! DOH
You might have better luck selling the size 8 lady. Only a thought
I couldnt give her away!!!
My trick to avoid the ‘wife-dar’ is to never let her know how expensive things are, she would never know the true value of, say, an Akro exhaust anyway. Nor would she ever be intersted enough to find out. So purcases like that cost:
“Oh, yes I got a bit of a bargain on that, £100 instead of £150”
Not only is it a blatant lie, usually at least halving the items true value, but I have entered the female world of ‘it’s not what I spent; it’s how much I saved’
It’s a win-win solution!!
