This is my first posting apart from a newbie introduction some time ago. I have been following a number of threads such as parenting, website improvements, leavers etc. for some time and would like to make some constructive comment, being, as it is, an outsider looking in.
It strikes me that the forum represents a microcosm of society in general in that people of all types are represented. Some have strong views and post a lot, others post when a particular thread interests them and others just sit on the sidelines, like myself… It is apparent that this variety of views sometimes leads to argument and stroppiness but I think it wise to remember that, like family, you do not choose who submits to the forum and, like the outside world, you will sometimes hear things you disagree with. BUT if it were not for the LondonBikers.com you would not be discussing these issues at all. I think that Salee has pointed this out on a number of occasions and it is obvious from her emails that she is very committed to the view that she submits. Similarly others are also committed but this does not mean we cannot sometimes be swayed to change our views.
At the end of the day the only common thread for most of us is that we are bikers and that should be good enough for us to get along and treat each other with some courtesy and dignity.
Apologies if this sounds a bit idealistic, but as a biker of some 40 years and obviously of a reasonable age, I have come to realise that life is short and we only get one chance at life.
Welcome to posting on the site and long may it continue!
