OUCH!

whats the best over the counter pain killers? me and my bike went our seperate ways over the weekend.

breaking up is fast to do

Not good mate, sorry to hear that.

I live on Solpadine Max or Nurofen Plus when I’m sore.

Co- codamol (paracetemol & codiene) should be available over the counter 2 every 4 hours usually, you can also take 400mg of ibuprofen 3times a day on top of that, safely, but watch the ibuprofen if you’re asthmatic.

Gin

Sorry mate! I go with JD without the rocks

Oh shucks man, real sorry to hear this. Was it on the ring?

I seperated from mine but only have a small bruise to show. Battered ego and despondant but the bikes virtually unscathed fortunately.

1/2 litre of JD or Jim Bean does me.

at the Ring indeed. after Karusell fast lefthander uphill (on the vid where i turn infront of porsche and end up where porsche passes me), 2 cars were on the line i wanted so passed them offline, had to cut in late then turn it in where front said “no milk today” 110-120mph. luckily went uphill and scrubbed off some speed before kissing the armco. coughed up some blood which was a first, surprised how dark it was. busted rib and knee ligament damage. only saw top fairing disintergrated, headlight hanging out, bar snapped, couldn’t see much else from my position. gixer less for the first time in 6 years.

medical bill from hospital 500euros

ambulance bill 153euros

bike recovery 224euros

damage to bike: priceless

I am totally gutted for you mate and the injuries don’t sound good, not life threatening but nasty all the same. I have heard that it costs lots if you crash out there, hope you had that little piece of plastic that covers the old E111? Take it you went to Adenau hospital as well? My mates been in there a couple of times and they were really good.

Fortunately when I crashed over there, the bike missed the armco, it was just me that hit it and no rescue involved. My mate limped the battered bike back while I rode his.

Coughed up blood if dark and similiar colour / appearence to coffee granules will be from the stomach … it’s the way that the stomach acid interacts with it.

From lungs then it will be brighter (as full of oxygen and at times frothy) !

Just been on my First aid refresher … they’re even sorting us out with proper and safe removal of lids now which is a bonus as well as other handy stuff - defib, etc, etc !

Either way not good … hopefully a full recovery was had 1Doohan … sounds right painful though mate.

had direct line travel insurance, no good to germans so had to cough up. now got to go back to pick bike up. more expense

a mate has been in the helicopter 2500euros

blood must have looked dark as it splattered the on the brown leaves. i was on my knees in the execution position and taking small breaths there was a crackling to my breathing, a couple of small coughs and out slipped the red stuff. sorry didn’t have my camera with me, i did ask if anyone who stopped had one, but no.

Thats real bad news that the insurance has not covered it. You should get that lovely bit of plastic from the Brit Government mate. As for the bike, I presume you do not know exactly how bad it is? You will need van or trailer to collect. I also think that you have to pay some ridiculous amount of money to get it out of the compound, I may have heard that wrong and I hope so but 450 euros springs to mind. I can try and find out if you like.

By the way, I have insurance that I have taken out for racing. It covers me for absolutely anything though, I don’t have to be racing to claim. When I get home I will look out the details and post them up. You get paid for being in hospital, paid for being off work etc. Maybe worth thinking about.

I’m sorry, but I only got this far before I fainted: “coughed up some blood which was a first”. What happened next? And, now Andrew’s about to hit the Ring! Quick, somebody stop him!

Glad you’re OK, mate! Could have been so much worse. Get plenty of rest and some ibuprofen or codeine (not with booze, obviously). Get an attractive girl to massage the damaged bits to improve blood circulation and kiss them better…

Glad to hear your ok. The ring almost killed my wife’s brother. the name ‘Widow maker’ is v.apt

224 euros should be for the bike to be delivered to the hotel where i stay. didnt see it it properly to assess damage, but its been down on left side first the ended up on right, not sure if it hit armco, been told it did (another bill in the post).

seem to crash every 3 years 2000-2003-2006 at the beginning of season, will give april/may 2009 a wide berth

1doohan… Sorry to hear it mate!! I could think of less expensive places to crash… Glad you’re not too badly hurt, Hope you feel better real soon fella…

Nurofen Plus, hands down. Get the big box and eat like 4 at a time and you should be comfortably numb

Sorry to hear about your spill…

Glad to hear that you are generally ok…

Sorry to hear it bud, but you’re in one piece. Brendon says don’t worry about the thanks for picking you up, and 2.5 hrs in hospital, but what goes around comes around apparently. And Daisy likes drinking out of her new Shoei dog-bowl

I got 5 sweet laps in on Monday night before it closed for the week, and went real good and stayed right way up.

Sorry to hear about you and your baby mate, glad your okay the bill your getting seams large enough to buy a new bike

GET WELL SOON
