OT - Where can I get rabbits in London

Sorry, completely off topic …

Does anybody know of any decent butchers/game places in London that do rabbit at an honest price?
Or better even, does anybody on here shoot them and would you sell me a couple?

Borough market?

But at the prices there, you may end up getting skinned rather than the rabbits…

William Rose in East Dulwich does rabbits, not sure how the price compares with other places.

If you are going, try to go Monday-Friday - as on Saturdays the queue is around the corner.

Otherwise Smithfield market has a few butchers that sell to the public.

I love a bit of rabbit but my mrs and the kids won`t let me bring any home to cook.

Tesco’s sell rabbit meat.

The cover of darkness, Hampstead Heath, high powered air rifle, + night sight?

Only problem is you might meet Trojan and his gang, and get to stare down the business end of an MP5

Never seen it in my local Tesco.
I assume they’re not wild either? I prefer wild as we may as well eat the vermin rather than breed some of the same.

And yes, if I had any idea of how to handle a gun, I would just go down to Essex for a couple (the area around Stansted seems to be riddled with the things), but I’d probably harm myself more than the rabbits

Hey luvvie when do you want some for? we go ferreting all the time and have plentiful supplys…what we don’t eat gets shared out between the terriers and ferrets… i take it your gonna eat them?

Oh. That’s promissing. Yes, we would be eating them. I miss my grandmums rabbit stew, so was going to give it a go myself. I don’t need them for a specific occasion, so let me know when you have any

Well hopefully this this week sometime we have a new permission to go to and there is some big bunnies on the land  How many you want luvvie? we usually gut and skin them and freeze them in sealable freezer bags:)

come out next week on the bcr and we can murder some rabbits with my pellit guns,

that is what the bcr stands for Bludgeon Cute Rabbits at least there is use for the killings if your willing to eat them:D

I tried some bunny bopping last year in Houston, but I think I might have been overgunned :stuck_out_tongue: the rabbits were skinned alright, but it took hours to pick up all the bits

Once you have the beast, Jamie Oliver (sorry) has a good pot roasted recipe.

Or, I still have my Mum’s war time cook book with some good traditional rabbit recipes in. (Er…that’s good recipes, I can’t swear to the rabbits behaviour.) Stick up a post or PM if interested.

Or invite me round to cook and eat.

2 would be great. gutted and skinned even better

Just let me know when you have them and how much you want for them and I can come and pick them up (I assume you’re in or around London somewhere?

My grandmum makes a really mean stew which is the one I want to try to make. It envolves healthy amounts of butter (well unhealthy really) and a couple of bottles of Rodenbach, a dark Belgian beer brewed in my hometown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodenbach).

As soon as we have some fresh ones in i will pm you luvvie:D

Oh and i am 20 mins down the A13 outta town:D

Well, you live and learn, i never knew Trojan was that way inclined:D

Cheers :DA13 is the right part of town for me anyway

hey wasp…sounds like fun…got to get me a 12 bore and have a go at my rabbitts too…they seem to have become a little less prevalent in the past few months though…will have to go see where the buggers are hiding…

my thoughts exactly, makes you wonder if they on about grub when mentioning donuts :D:D
