just wanted your opinion on a fender kit as i wanna tidy up my tail on the cbr 6rr. ive seen these (below) but im not sure. what do you lot think or can you recommend something better that will make my bike look better. some come with a plate light??? never seen them in the uk b4…thought we tried to hide our plates:P
Kempo - I’m in agreement with Curtis here, if you can, try and get the tail tidy without the indicators, they look the mutts and are definitely the way forward!
ive seen these b4, i admit they do look the dogs bo****ks & would tidy the end up nicely,. but i would be a bit worried about them being noticeable on the road.
curtis, i think you miss understood me, i meant other road users noticing, the lights are so close together people might not realize they’re indicators. i would rather someone know im moving over then them drive up my arse. but still, think im gonna order one:)
o i c what a mean now! i not ordered 1 yet, my indicator is in post, i like the look of the 1 in the top right of your post, want something like that r&g do a few good 1’s apparently
They aren’t ‘E’ marked & consequently aren’t legal under the Construction & Use (C&U) regulations.
From a use point of view, the main problem is that they aren’t really very clear especially in bright sunlight ( I hear a rumour that we may have some next summer…) & as they aren’t legal, it could complicate matters if some numpty knocks you off & claims not to have seen you indicating/braking.
although I can see everyones point about it being confusing…in a split second decision sort of thing…the whole point about back lights being used as indicators is totally tried and tested in the states…they think it works better than seperate indicators…especially as people are ususally looking at your back light most of the time it is mostly instantly noticeable…
yes and ‘e’ marking is just europes way of stopping cheap clever imports overunning our sometimes staid and out of date industries…but it is the law…
Think under standard indicating they might be OK, but there was a thread about these a while back and the main complaint that when braking, the braking light overpowered the indicator. I dont really like them myself, car drivers need more warnings, not more complicated ones.

There’s no problem with the clarity etc at all, even with my one which is a smoked lens. It there were any clarity issues, I wouldn’t have it.
Make sure you by the one made by Clear Alternatives, made in the US. You can buy them from a company called Project R. Very good service etc. Find em on flea bay.
West tiger had the lamp with integrated indicators on his Fazer a while back. It caused mayhem for those behind him on rideouts  It appeared clear till you had a bit of distance and then if he braked and signalled you were stuffed
