My dad’s '04 FZ6’s clock isn’t showing everything:
As you can see, the top half of the speedo isn’t there (that’s meant to be a zero), and nor’s the bottom half of the fuel gague (to the right) or the odometer. The revcounter works fine, but he does ride it rather sedately, so it might be missing bits off the top…
Any ideas what might’ve done this, and how to fix it? The bike’s obviously out of warranty, and we’d rather avoid a direct replacement. Each of us is quite comfortable dismantling it and poking around, but I’d like some idea of the futility of the excersie first…
My guess is that it’s water damage of some sort, since I can’t think of anything else that might’ve caused this. It happened while or shortly after he was away for a few weeks, and has persisted for well over a month now.
