Sorry, did you call? LOL
When’s the big day then?
Cool
You made ur mind up about the new bike yet MM? That white S4R (i presume) in avatar looks soooo wikkid (that’s street talk ya know )
Defo need something taller for the legs and bigger engined for hell of it.
List is currently:
S4RS or S2R 1000 (heard the S4RS is a serious undertaking)
749 (won’t have a licence if I get the 999)
2006 VFR ABS
Yes I know, the VFR doesn’t really fit in that list, but I sat on one the other say and it was a perfect fit. Going to line up some test rides and see which one is the most orgasmic
So the answer is no
Mini Mo, have you looked at the KTM superduke?
would you concider the super duke ok for a commuter, tourer and weekend fun…
I have not had the chance to talk to any owners, i’d assume expensive to commute and poor tank range/protection for touring…?
I want a new bike!!!
To be quite honest, it’s ****ing useless for long trips on straight roads. I went up to Mallory (150 miles) at a nice 100MPH cruise and it wasn’t very comfy (although every naked bike suffers from that)
Tank range is 100miles really.
I 'll happily use it in Spain this summer cos I know we avoid straight roads like burd flu.
Around town it’s got a heavy clutch, and you’d prolly benifit from putting a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket on.
So don’t buy one! Unless you can have a razor sharp tool just for carving up B roads / tighter A roads at weekends.
Did consider it as always had scramblers as a yuff. Test rode the FMX last year and loved it, but wouldn’t want to do any kinda distance on it. It’s not unknown for me to do 600 odd miles in a day so need something that isn’t going to kill my bum and legs. Hence the change from the Monster 620.
Am a real Ducati fan but don’t like the SS or the Multistrudle. Have to take a 749 out to see if it is any good for long distance, but my guess is it won’t be. But that said I prefer the lines of naked bikes anyhoo. But 9500 for the S4Rs is a bit steep, so will probably go for the S2R 1000.
Lots of test rides to be had.
I like the uglystrada!
Just doesn’t do it for me. I like bikes to look they way I remember them looking when I was a kid. Kinda like the XJS etc.
A bike that looks like a Jag? Hmm. It’d be comfy I’m sure, and there’d be plenty of wood trim.
Multitrundle? Not sure, S4 - definitely looks the best.
But 600 miles a day? On any Dusktarty that sounds like luck being pushed. But fair play to ya.
Oh no no no no not the VFR. I hear nowt but gurmblings from the IAM ‘crew’ I ‘hang’ wit’. And it’s ugly IMHO. And dull. But it’s got funky clocks that look like spaceship controls, so I’d prob buy one.
What’s it you ride again
The best bike in the world.
The one that only pride is stopping you from buying.
A true jack-of-all-trades
A prince amongst beggars
Stop sniggering. We can all dream. Until March when by new Daytona 675 arrives…
LOL. Forgot about the 675. Now that IS a nice bike, and just in time for when the gritting stops. Mmm best get shopping me thinks
Andrew - that’s a lot of praise for a bike you’ve never ridden!
Haha Pete, I was referring to my 7r.
Not even in my wildest dreams (but they’re not that wild really) could I suggest that the 675 is a jack of all trades. I can’t see it panniered up for a cross Euro blast.
Mini-Mo, yes mate better get shopping. I’ve a feeling we may be taking a scenic blast up North together in the summer. And I wouldn’t want to have to keep waiting for you…
How did you know he’s never ridden my bike, the Vespa GT?
Andrew - my 916 made 5 trips down to spain. there’s no reason a 675 thingy couldn’t!
You’re on.
